Taipei, July 3 (CNA) Graphic artists, voice actors and animators from Taiwan and Japan will gather in Taipei Aug. 7 for the opening of the 2014 Comic Exhibition. So far, 24 Taiwanese and Japanese artists are set to participate in the exhibition's activities and book-signing events, with more expected to sign up in the coming weeks, said Roger Kao, secretary-general of the Taipei-based Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association, the event's main organizer. New this year will be animation powerhouse Disney, which will be taking part for the first time, Kao said. Also at the exhibition will be Japanese voice actors Yuki Kaji, who voiced the main character of popular anime series "Attack on Titan," and manga artist Isaku Natsume, known for her work on "False Memories 2." Taiwanese comic artists Hui Ye Dou and Barz and author Shui Quan will also be featured. This year's show will be both bigger and more inclusive, with more mobile game and app developers expected to join, Kao said.

"The scale of the exhibition will be the largest to date, with over 60 publishers setting up around 530 booths, up from some 450 booths last year," he said. Organizers said they hope the number of visitors to the fair will surpass 600,000 to beat out last year's record attendance of 582,000. The exhibition, now in its 15th year, will run until Aug. 12 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. (By Christie Chen)
