On July 11, ONE Fighting Championship will debut the first major league international mixed martial arts event, “War of Dragons,” to be held in Taiwan at Taipei’s National Taiwan University Sports Center. This event will also be the first time local fans and viewers in over 70 countries around the world will see Taiwan’s flag prominently featured in an international sporting event. Among the 10 scheduled bouts are four native sons, local fighters Sung Ming-yen, Jeff Huang, and Zhang Zheng-jie and Paul Cheng fighting out of British Columbia, Canada. These four athletes will wear Taiwan’s flag proudly as they represent the country of their birth.

Paul Cheng is a heavyweight with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. His opponent at the “War of Dragons” will be Egyptian Mahmoud Hassan. Bantamweight Sung Ming-yen will be squaring off against Nick Lee out of Singapore, lightweight Zhang Zheng-jie will face Malaysian Rayner Kinsiong, and welterweight Jeff Huang will fight Indian Bala Shetty. Zhang Zheng-jie will be putting his undefeated mixed martial arts record on the line as he, Sung Ming-yen, and Jeff Huang represent the Taiwanese mixed martial arts community for the first time on an international stage.
