Taipei, July 20 (CNA) The Central Weather Bureau plans to issue a sea warning about Typhoon Matmo on Monday, barring it changing tract before then, bureau officials said Sunday. The storm was centered at 1500 km southeast of Taiwan early Sunday, moving in a northwestward direction at 16-18 km per hour. Keeping on that tract, Matmo will reach the sea around Taiwan on Monday, as the Central Weather Bureau plans to sound a sea warning on Monday night, said the bureau. However, the bureau is not certain whether the storm will strike Taiwan, noting that high pressure on the Pacific could strengthen in the next couple of days and push the storm southward, sparing Taiwan. The bureau cautioned, however, that large waves caused by the outer band of the storm will reach the coast of northern and eastern Taiwan on Tuesday. (By Maubo Chang)
