KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) -- India's foreign minister has arrived in Nepal for talks about building power plants and other trade between the South Asian nations.

The delegation led by Sushma Swaraj will attend a Joint Commission meeting in Katmandu on Saturday.

The visit by the highest-level official since a new government was elected in India in May is important for Nepal as much larger India has a major influence over both the economy and politics in the Himalayan nation.

Swaraj is also expected to formally announce a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepal next month.
