Taipei, July 29 (CNA) National Chengchi University (NCCU) President Wu Se-hwa will be the new minister of education, filling the post vacated by the resignation earlier this month of Chiang Wei-ling, the Executive Yuan announced Tuesday. He is expected to assume office later this week. In a statement, the Executive Yuan described Wu as a distinguished scholar in the business administration field who can bring innovation to Taiwan's education system and help the Cabinet carry out its policy of connecting academia and the private sector. Wu, 59, got his master's and doctorate degrees in business administration from NCCU in Taipei and specializes in strategic management and knowledge management creativity. He replaces Chiang Wei-ling, who resigned on July 14 after being connected to a scandal over fake peer reviews of several research papers published by a Taiwanese scholar.
