Taipei, Aug. 4 (CNA) Kaohsiung district prosecutors searched Monday two companies for documents related to propylene transportation after leaks of the chemical gas triggered massive explosions in the port city last week that killed 28 people. The prosecutors seized records on the transportation of the material at the Dashe factory of LCY Chemical Corp., the private petrochemical company whose propylene pipeline is suspected to be behind the blasts, and China General Terminal and Distribution Corp., which was contracted by LCY Chemical to store and send the gas. The search was part of an investigation by the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office into the gas explosions on the underground propylene pipeline that also injured more than 300 others.
