Sporting Lisbon says it has reached a deal to sell defender Marcos Rojo to Manchester United.

The club, which is listed on the stock exchange in Lisbon, made the announcement in a regulatory filing and said the transfer is worth 20 million euros ($27 million).

United is signing the Argentinian after losing its opening match of the Premier League season to Swansea on Saturday.

Sporting also says United winger Nani is returning to the Portuguese club on loan for the season. He left Sporting to join United in 2007.
