Taipei, Aug. 24 (CNA) An eight-year-old boy whose name was not revealed due to privacy issues fell into a 15-meter deep ravine in the northern county of Miaoli, but was found to be "miraculously" unharmed, rescuers said Sunday. The boy from Hsinchu City had traveled with his grandparents to the Shenhsian (Immortal) Valley, in Miaoli's Nanzhuang Township, and accidentally fell into the ravine.
After receiving a report of the accident, the county fire department sent rescuers to the scene, where they spent about half an hour pulling the unharmed boy out. "It is really a miracle," they said afterward. (By Kuan Jui-ping and James Lee)
