China Airlines (CAL, 2610) will introduce a luxurious new Deluxe Business Class on the company’s 777-300ER fleet to allow passengers to enjoy an inflight space of independent comfort. In addition to 180 degree fully lie-flat seating, the onboard video entertainment system also features industry leading 18 inch displays. The business class Sky Lounge combines Eastern and Western aesthetics to provide passengers with a scholarly environment in which to enjoy an airborne intellectual journey.

CAL NexGen’s lead designer Ray Chen and his team spent over one year developing a Sky Lounge located at the center of Deluxe Business Class that delicately combines Eastern and Western culture and philosophy. The left section of the Sky Lounge represents the East with a “cultural tea area” providing local Taiwanese teas and traditional snacks. The right section represents the West with a “fashionable coffee area” providing coffee and classic Western pastries. A bar offering mixed drinks, bar snacks, and cup noodles is located at the center of the Sky Lounge. Select Chinese and English reading materials are also available on the periphery of the Sky Lounge.

The CAL 777-300ER Deluxe Business Class has a total of 40 seats set in a 1-2-1 layout so that every passenger has direct access to the aisle. The seats are 78 inches long and become 180 degree fully lie-flat beds. Each seat is equipped with an industry leading 18 inch display screen, AC power socket, and USB.
