FarEasTone 1800MHz 4G scheduled for September

As 4G competition intensifies, FarEasTone (4904) again declared, 1800MHz 4G base station construction has been certified by the National Communications Commission (NCC) and the company will strive to be the first to offer 1800MHz 4G service in September.

FarEasTone announced that the company’s 1800MHz 4G base stations completed NCC system certification procedures Thursday. In addition to its existing 700MHz network, FarEasTone will accelerate the process of offering service in the 1800MHz frequency band and continue in the direction of providing dual frequency 4G service. FarEasTone is expected to be the first telecom to offer dual 700MHz and 1800MHz 4G service in the beginning of September.

FarEasTone stated, after introducing 700MHz + 1800MHz dual frequency 4G service, it will employ superior technology and carrier aggregation to link the 700MHz and 1800MHz frequency bands. This combination a high and low frequency network can achieve a superlative indoor and outdoor signal. All mobile phones on the market that supports 1800MHz 4G such as the iPhone 5s, 5c, HTC One Max, Samsung Note 3, SonyXperia Z1, and Xperia Z2(D6503) will be able to enjoy faster and more stable 4G internet service through FarEasTone’s dual frequency service.

In addition, since FarEasTone began 700MHz frequency band service in June, 4G users have quickly exceeded 200,000 and network coverage has expanded to include 33 cities and counties across Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, and 145 administrative regions and 370 popular attractions across Taiwan. Population coverage in major metropolitan areas has surpasses 90% and is expected to reach 96% by year’s end.
