Suspect in tycoon kidnap-murder case under arrest in Thailand

Taipei, Sept. 4 (CNA) The main suspect in the kidnapping and murder in August of a local billionaire has been arrested in Thailand, police said Thursday, adding that the Taiwan authorities are working to have the man deported back to Taiwan for investigations. Hsieh Yuan-hsin, a 39-year-old chauffeur, fled to Thailand on the night of Aug. 18 using an illegally obtained passport. He allegedly kidnapped and killed his employer Shih Chia-chin, 57, earlier that day with the help to two other men, who were arrested in Taiwan on Aug. 25. (By Liao Jen-kai and Jay Chen)
