After warm spell, Taiwan to see cooler weather this weekend

Following a brief spell of warmth, a high pressure system later this week will bring chilly weather to Taiwan, according to the latest Central Weather Bureau (CWB) forecast.

A high pressure system will move in by Saturday, which will lead to occasional showers and a drop in the minimum temperatures by at least 2-3 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Taiwan, and the maximum temperatures below 30 degrees, the forecasters said.

Taiwan is basking in a four-day warm spell this week with the temperatures rise to as high as 35 degrees in the north. The weather will remain warm throughout the week until Friday, according to the CWB, before the chilly air arrives on the island.

The cooler weather this weekend is likely to last at least four to five days, the weather bureau said.
