Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says Sudan's expulsion of 16 aid organizations from Darfur is putting the lives of over a million innocent civilians at risk and increasing the potential for instability in the region.The U.N. chief in a report to the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday urged the Sudanese government to reconsider its decision to oust the 13 international humanitarian groups and three national ones.
Ban says efforts by the United Nations and the Sudanese government can address some of the most critical gaps in the delivery of aid in the coming weeks.
